Ziggy, Karen, Katrina, Brian quitting

sad

Like some of you I woke up this morning to the bad news that Ziggy, Karen, Katrina, and Brian were quitting Xat.

I know first hand that Xat, at times, can be “difficult” and I’m sure that each of them has their own reasons for doing so but I personally wanted to acknowledge that each one them will be missed and at least thank them for the time they’ve spent on Xat helping people.

Anyway, I’m sorry to see each of you go. Hopefully one day you’ll all come back.

My promise to xatBlogs bloggers!

I’m starting to recognize first hand the significance of having everyone participate here in the xatBlogs community.

My promise to everyone is to bring eyes directly to your blog posts from Xatworld.com. If I see blog posts here on xatBlogs with interesting Xat info, news, tips or whatever, and I mention them on http://blog.xatworld.com, I will link to and give full credit to the author of that post.

So, if you see something, have inside knowledge, or simply hear a rumor, don’t hesitate to post it. “Rumor” btw, can be a great catalyst to for new conversation!

Thanks everyone!

Both Viren and Rain get first mention for their posts on DX.

xatBlogs.com hits 500 users – almost!

xat blogs

Yes we know, we said we would report back when xatBlogs.com reached its 1,000th user, but since they hit 500 so fast that we couldn’t help ourselves.

As of this post Xat Blogs current member count stands at just 2 users shy of its 500th xat blogs user.

Having said that, we really will follow up when Xat Blogs hits 1,000 users! In the meantime, keep your eye on the xatBlogs website, the fastest growing site for Xat bloggers, for the very latest in Xat info and contests. Oh, and if you still haven’t reserved your xatBlogs blog/username, get it here before someone else does.

Xat’s Stricter banning option – In progress!

stricterbanning

We haven’t seen a mention of this anywhere so, we’ll call it a xatBlogs EXCLUSIVE!

A few minutes ago we were alerted to something that we haven’t seen before. A new option called “Stricter Banning” that, although currently visible on the “Extra chatbox features, Extra options page”, for some reason, still can’t be activated. If you mouse over this option you can see the following tag:

“Try to stop unbanning (note may ban innocent people)”.

This looks to be an answer, obviously, to people constantly unbanning themselves (perhaps by changing IP). Anyway, until the option actually takes hold, we have no way of trying it out or knowing what it really does. Btw, to get to it, EDIT your chatbox, then click CHAT BOX SETTINGS.

Credit goes to Noctambulo (you all know who he is *wink*) for pointing it out.

Update: This feature is “rumored” to take closer notice at chat bans. If one particular IP is banned, then banned again (assuming here that the same user unbans, resets his IP, and returns to the chat), this feature will block an IP range; which explains the blurb about taking out “innocent people” – credit goes to Phsycical

Xat Secretly Working on Stricter Banning Option

Stay tuned for more info! Someone Xat blogger is bound to come up with some more details on xatBlogs.com. Keep an eye out for it.

DX Released to Testers + Rumors!

xat dx

Just before the new year we posted what we thought DX might be. This morning a xatBlogs user pointed out that 42 had given the new DX power to two testers. After some observation and scrutiny on our part, we’re leaning even more now in the direction of a xat to days converter.

Here are a few more things we picked up on this morning:

1. Once the DX power is used, you lose it. This could be thought of as an ATM processing fee.

2. If you have two DX’s and you “use the process” once, you will lose DX. If you do it again, you’ll lose the other. Again, if you look at DX as a processing fee, it “fits”.

3. Asked “Are you going to sell DX” a tester replied no, because “I am spending the power”. Spending it on what? On converting xats to days maybe?

So… Any guesses?

Update: give Xatland’s DX blog post a read for more details. Xatland, headed by Brian (a Xat.com tester and longtime volunteer) has more details that probably anyone right now.

DX, what the heck is it? Hmmmmmm…

dxsecret

As Da Infamous Rapid Fire already stated in his post DX has been given to two testers.

Here are a few unconfirmed DX rumors:

1. Once the DX power is used, you lose it.

2. If you have two DX’s and you “use the process” once, you will lose DX. If you do it again, you’ll lose the other.

3. Asked “Are you going to sell DX” a tester replied no, because “I am spending the power”.

So… Any guesses?

xatBlogs banners – bored :)

I’m trying to come up with a new idea for a xatblogs.net banner… something catchy to lure people for Xatworld to xatBlogs.

xatblogsbannerI liked this image, but graphically couldn’t get the idea across. My tagline was going to be:

“xatBlogs – Unequivocally, the largest and fastest growing community of Xat.com bloggers!” “Growth” is was got me moving in the direction of a jungle. Maybe a bit of a stretch though… :)

Seems kinda blank without the tagline…
