xatBlogs 1,000th User Contest Bonanza!

xat blogs contest

xatBlogs.com has reached an unprecedented 1,000 registered users (psst… they are actually 3 users away from reaching 1,000; why not be the 1,000th). Anyway, to celebrate the moment xatBlogs has come up with a new and exciting contest.

In Brief, users are being asked to create a Xat/xatBlogs “Zing” (like a shout-out). Best one wins 30 clears AND, as if that wasn’t enough, the opportunity to try out and keep a new unreleased Xat power (compliments of Xat.com).

Enough said… You can read all the details, along with the latest Xat gossip and news, right on the xatBlogs contest page. Don’t forget to join the xatBlogs.com Facebook fan page and the xatBlogs Twitter for more contests and fun.

Good luck to all!

Sig Creator – great for Xat, Xatspace and Forums!

xat sigs

With the help of a few loyal Xat users we have created a new Xat Sig/Signature creator. You’ll be able to create dynamic sigs, labeled with your nick, you chat URL, or anything else that fits. These sigs can be used below your Xat chat, Xatspace or in any forum.

We’re in the early stages of our Sig creator and will continue to add, upload and update to many different versions and types of sigs.

Stay tuned!

Doriana Xat BOT News

It’s been just over a week now since we first brought you the post on the Xat roBOT. Sure enough a testing version has started popping up on various Xat chats.

Doriana, the BOT’s creator, has setup a simple version of the bot on our Xatworld chat,  (AyudaBOT 237681602) and another on Noctambulo’s chat (NoctambuLoBOT (238938943). All it does right now, upon entering the chat, is send you a welcome PC and, if you try to interact with it, repeat or ECHO anything you type.

Added: to see how this BOT could be used, open a private chat with the AyudaBOT, type COLOR CODES and it will respond to your request. Should work! :)

Stay tuned!

Note: This BOT is not officially supported by Xat.com

Xat Bump – More info!

While Bump continues to be tested we have info on it for you.

- First off, as of this posting Bump only appears to be functioning in the HELP chat

- Bump is used to get the attention of someone that has either left the PC, has looked away, or simply doesn’t realize that they’ve been PC’d. Right now, it looks to be a user power strictly for use within a private chat

- How to use: Private chat a user, if he doesn’t respond, type (bump) then hit enter. The chat will visually shake violently, your tab will appear RED to the user and he will hear a sound altering him to your private chat. What’s especially interesting is that Xat has taken a sound-byte right from their own Audies page.  So, those of you wanting to know what bump sounds like only need go as far as our Xat sounds codes page and click the LISTEN link adjacent to #laserfire3. Xat appears to also have killed that particular audie from being used as a “normal” audie in the chat; test it out! This has since been fixed.

Here is a screenshot of the red tab that a user being bumped would see:

Special thanks to Phsycical of Help and VGI for giving me a hand with the power and the screenshot.

Xat Screen Capture for Firefox

Yesterday, here on Xatworld, we launched out first Xat image editor. Since then, we’ve discovered another very useful tool that combines that same editor with Firefox right-click functionality. What that means is that if you are a Firefox user, by installing a simple plugin you will be able to right-click screenshot any page on Xat.com and send it to either the image editor or your desktop.

We’ve tried it out and it works awesomely!

Right-click OUTSITE (not directly on the chatbox) any chatbox and select your option:

You can choose to edit (very cool), share, save (great also!) or copy to clipboard:

In a few seconds you’ll be transported from this…

…to this. Here you’ll be able to edit the image and save it either to desktop or automatically to an online image storage site:

Example of grabbing a defined area:

Example of grabbing just the visible part of the page:

Example of grabbing the entire webpage (visible or not):

If you already have downloaded the Firefox browser (and you really should as it’s much safer than Internet Explorer), you can find the Pixlr Grabber plugin here.

Xat Image Editor – Pixlr

xat image editor

Have you ever wanted to edit a xat chat background, a screenshot, or any tweak any old image? Photoshop is admittedly the best answer to everything and anything graphic and we do use it here on the Xatworld website. The problem is that it’s expensive and not everyone can afford it. There are of course a few venturous souls that when met with such a predicament have gone the route of GIMP; also very useful and free!.

Online image editors are another beast altogether and there are many. Very easy to use and fast, they have the convenience factor going for them as they can be accessed from anywhere!

Today we’ve dug up just one these. Pixlr’s image editor is now and forever installed here on Xatworld.com. We figured it would be “useful” for fellow Xat users and we have made it permanently available here on our website. In the next few days we will bring you one more, equally as good option, that we will also include in the Xatworld.com utilities section (left/bottom user menu).

Try to edit an image now.

Flash based Xat Now on iPhone/iPod/iPad

xatBlogs.com Ziggy has come across and posted a new app that allows you to view flash based Xat.com chats on an iPhone, iPod touch, and/or iPad. Although we haven’t personally tried it out, Alwayson Technologies Cloud Browse app seems to give you access to a fully functioning Xat chat via your iPhone, etc…

More importantly, it’s free, so try it out now.

Here are a few iPhone screenies running the Cloud Browse app – compliments of Ziggy:
