Xat’s New Snakeban function

This morning we discovered that Xat had created a new feature (can anyone confirm whether it’s a feature or power?) called Snakeban. With it, banned users now have the opportunity to reenter the chat but only after participating in and successfully completing a snake-like game.

Snakeban smiley can be seen on our xat smiley generator here: http://www.xatworld.com/smileygenerator/?fname=snakeban

How does it work? Well, any snake-banned user will automatically be directed to this new feature. Banned users will be greeted by the usual “you’ve been banned” pop-up along with a regressive countdown alerting them to the start of the game.

You unban yourself simply by eating the 6 apples that appear on the chat screen without dying. If you die (hit a wall, eat yourself, etc…) a message will display and the game will restart. Until you complete the game (again, 6 apples), you will remain banned. Users that get their 6 apples will reenter the chat automatically and their game time will be displayed in seconds.

List of Xat Power Numbers

xat power numbers
As you know, each power is assigned a temporary numbered placeholder. We users have grown accustomed to seeing Xat staff & volunteers with powers such as 132 or 133. These placeholders takes the place of the actual power name until Xat is ready release it. What many may not know is that the “placeholder”, eventually hidden from our view, continues to be and is always associated with its corresponding power.

We’ve compiled a list of every power created to date along with it’s developmental ID / number and have noted a few that have been skipped over by Xat staff; should make for interesting conversation and/or speculation. :)

Control the placement of your Xat ad banner – NEW!

Exclusive! Xat has just added a new option to Gcontrol that allows fixed positioning of their horizontal chat ad banners.

The settings are as follows:

0 = random
1 = top
2 = bottom

Set to random, the ad will appear either above or below the chat. Likewise, top will position the ad above the chat and bottom will position it below the chat.

This new option allows for some experimentation with the chat PAGE background as it relates to the chat background. Having everything “fixed” and knowing that the ads will always appear above for example, allows for some creative and dynamic designing and positioning.
