Xat GCONTROL Gets BLASTBAN Feature

Today we discovered new Blastban functionality added to Gcontrol. For those of you that have Gcontrol assigned to your chatbox you’ll now find one extra line labeled “Prefered Blast 0-4″ (see below).

Here you will now be able to manage your preferred Blastban animation by simply changing to its corresponding animation number (0 through 4). Setting it to 4, for example, will change your Blastban animation to the Hippo; much cleaner and easier to use in our opinion. Hopefully Xat does the same with Blastpro and or related powers.

If you haven’t purchased your Gcontrol you now have an additional reason to do so :)

Awesome Update to Xat Smiley tab – Woohoo!

Xat has finally completed something that *I think* everyone has been waiting for; an update to the Xat smiley tab. From the looks of the posts rolling into the Mundoxat forum, this update took place sometime today. Xat has done a super job of categorizing each power into its specific zone and even made adjustments to the spacing between smileys. Users will now see the regular “free section” and a new powers section listing each power smiley along with it’s corresponding power smiley group. Beautifully organized and much easier on the eyes and mind!

Doriana Xat BOT News

It’s been just over a week now since we first brought you the post on the Xat roBOT. Sure enough a testing version has started popping up on various Xat chats.

Doriana, the BOT’s creator, has setup a simple version of the bot on our Xatworld chat,  (AyudaBOT 237681602) and another on Noctambulo’s chat (NoctambuLoBOT (238938943). All it does right now, upon entering the chat, is send you a welcome PC and, if you try to interact with it, repeat or ECHO anything you type.

Added: to see how this BOT could be used, open a private chat with the AyudaBOT, type COLOR CODES and it will respond to your request. Should work! :)

A Closer look at Xat’s new Banish Feature

Although Banish hasn’t officially been given the okay, some chats, including Freewebs, have been able to test the new feature.

The new banish feature is simply a more extreme version of the normal ban feature. If a user gets banned for more than 1 hour, banish automatically kicks in. That user will not be allowed to see chat messages or the chats user list. They will only be able to see and, if they desire, contact the chats main owner, owner, or moderator; presumably to beg for forgiveness.

Note: Keep in mind that this IS NOT a new power and rather a new feature. When Xat has finished testing banish should be available in every chat, albeit at a price.

New Links Added to Chat Pages

Sometime this afternoon, Xat rolled out two new links (forum and share) located at the top of any of the individual chat pages.

“Forum” directly links chat pages to Xat’s own Community help forum. The positioning of this new link may be all that Xat needs to get people to more easily find and participate in their forums.

The “share” link seems like a intermediary compromise to something that we personally submitted to Xat staff and wrote up on the Xat suggestions page. Regardless, we’re extremely happy to see Xat pushing growth via any of the many social networks and look forward to the new signups.

Xat Secretly Working on Stricter Banning Option

A few minutes ago we were alerted to something that we haven’t seen before. A new option called “Stricter Banning” that, although currently visible on the “Extra chatbox features, Extra options page”, still can’t be activated. Mousing over this option we can see the following tag:

“Try to stop unbanning (note may ban innocent people)”.

This looks to be an answer to people constantly unbanning themselves (perhaps by changing IP). Anyway, until the option actually takes hold, we have no way of trying it out or even knowing for sure. Btw, to get to it, EDIT your chatbox, then click CHAT BOX SETTINGS.

Update: This feature is “rumored” to take closer notice at chat bans. If one particular IP is banned, then banned again (assuming here that the same user unbans, resets his IP, and returns to the chat), this feature will block an IP range; which explains the blurb about taking out “innocent people” – credit goes to Phsycical from his interaction with Xat staff a few months back when “Stricter banning” was just an idea.

Xat’s Black Pawn Kiss

There still seems to be many many people that are unfamiliar with how the use the new Black Pawn kiss.

In a nutshell, here’s how to do it:

1. Get to your KISSES interface by first logging into Xat, going into any chat, and by then clicking on the magic eight ball icon.

2. When prompted for a message, type it and add #black to the end of that line.

3. Enter your password and use your mouse to select the Globe kiss (works will Bugs and Pull as well).

That’s it!

Hopefully that makes things a bit more easy to understand.

Xat’s Power 56 – Snowy power!

Xat’s eagerly awaited power 56 has transformed into and been released as the new “Snowy power”. With it users have access to a new “Snowy kiss” (see below).

Those users that do not have the new Snowy power can still take advantage of another new Christmas themed kiss called “Globe”. It too is now visible along with the other kisses.

In addition Xat has included an easter egg of sorts for the Globe kiss. By appending #reindeer to the end of the kisses message, the default Snow kiss snowman can be replaced by a reindeer.

Update: We missed this before but Xat has also added new smilie power functionality for the SNOWY power. Here’s an example of what you can do!
