Sometime between last night and this morning Xat did something that they’ve never done (not to our knowledge anyway), they “restored” all or some Xat accounts to a earlier state and Xat trade/transfer had to be closed down temporarily during the process. Now, to put rumor to rest and give each of you “some” closure or clarity (depending on where you stand), we’ve contacted Xat ourselves and here is what we know.

The reason/problem is highlighted in Yellow, the solution for some of you, is highlighted in Green.

If you were one of the unfortunates, meaning your account was “in receipt of stolen xats” (be it intentional or not) every one of your transactions has been canceled and restored to its pre-July 5th state. If you purchased xats after the specified date you should contact Xat by opening a ticket at xat.com/support (direct your question to Payment Problems) so that they can help you.

This is a new scamming technique for me so I wanted to share. Hopefully everyone can spread the word.

Tonight, while on Spanish help, I was PC’d or was asked to PC (I don’t remember). Anyway, being IN Spanish help. I greeted this person with a “Hola”. They quickly corrected me and said that they were “English” and I said “Well then, HI”. From the get-go, I had a hard time understanding what it is they were trying to say to me. Apparently, the user wanted to tip me off to, what he said was a new power (72). Sure enough, in his list of powers, he had a visible “72″ (see screenshot below). He said that it was a GOLD pawn power. Soon after that he asked that I main owner him in AYUDA and in CAMBIO. His reason? He said that he needed to test out some security features and that 42 was aware of it. That to me was a red flag I asked where he was from, he said the UK. I asked what his native language was, he said “English”. Reading through the screenshots below, it’s apparent that English wasn’t his native language. I had heard enough.

All screenshots were sent to Xat and, although they are still trying to find out how he had 72 in his power list (btw, it’s NOT Gold pawn), they’ve confirmed that he is a scammer (one that many of us have run into on both English and Spanish Xat).

So… just because someone HAS what looks like an unreleased power in their list, don’t necessarily believe it. They could use that bug to trick unsuspecting users out of passwords, powers, days or xats. Be careful and inform as many people as you can.

P.S. It also wouldn’t hurt to ban 237172239 SUPPRORTING forever from all of your chats.

Thanks!

Mate (pronounced Mah-teh), a popular drink amongst South Americans, has finally made its way to Xat in the form of a Smiley (mate) by way of user suggestion.

Those unfamiliar with the beverage can simply imagine a hollowed out gourd filled with a dried herb. Hot water is poured into the gourd and it’s contents are then sipped through a metal straw called a “bombilla”. More than just a drink, mate is often served in gatherings of two or more people (primarily as an excuse to socialize); each taking their turn (yes with the same straw!) as the mate emptied, topped off, and passed around.

Those wanting to try out the new smiley can either head on over to the Xat test chat (AS3 needed) and type (mate) or play around with the Xatworld smiley generator.

Nice to see Xat making everyone happy!

Last weeks unscheduled testing of new smilies removed the shroud on just a few of Xat’s newest AS3 features. Of course, with any new platform, glitches, bugs, and various surprises are bound to exist.

Enter Xat.com with an interesting proposal. Users that are willing to help document and point out suspected glitches, will be rewarded for their efforts in cold hard xats. You heard right! Depending on the severity and or complexity of each find, users can expect to receive anywhere between 50 and 500 xats.
