Fun Things To Do On Your Xat Chat

In this post I am going to show you a few fun things to do in your xat chat.

Connect 4 – Play with a friend and try to match 4 of your own smiles in a row. While playing try to figure out ways to win but make sure you watch the other players every move. In order to play this game you must select it from the left hand side bar and then private chat a user you wish to play.

Chess – Play a game of chess with a friend. In order to play this game you must select it from the left hand side bar and then private chat a user you wish to play.

Pool – Play a game of pool with a friend. In order to play this game you must select it from the left hand side bar and then private chat a user you wish to play.

Shoot – Play a game of shoot with a friend or the whole chat. Try to shoot as many smiles as you can. There is no way to win this game as the smiles keep on coming. If you don’t shoot any smilies your score will go down. This game can get really hard at times depending on how many people are playing. In order to play this game you must select it from the left hand side bar and then private chat a user you wish to play. If you are playing with the whole chat just simply select shoot and starting shooting the smiles.

Webcam – Why type when you can talk to friends on xat. Webcam can only be used in private chat.

BEFORE USING WEBCAM PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT TALKING TO A STRANGER. ONLY USE WEBCAM TO TALK WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!

In order to use the webcam you must select it from the left hand side bar and then private chat a user you wish to video chat with.

Doodle – Draw with a friend or with the whole chat. In order to use the doodle application you must select it from the left hand side bar.

Stick – Create your own stick figure animation. Once you have created your stick animation you can use it as your avatar, in your name or just post share it with everyone in the chat room. In order to use the stick application you must select it from the left hand side bar. You can use the stick application but you will not be able to post animations you have created without having the stick power. The stick power costs 300xats and can be brought at xat.com/powers.

Music – Create your own music tune. Once you have created your music tune you can use it in your name or post it to share with the rest of the chat. In order to use the music application you must select it from the left hand side bar. You can use the music application but if you try to post your tune to the rest of the chat it will not work without the music power. The music power costs 300xats and can be brought from xat.com/powers.

Youtube – Share youtube videos with friends or the whole chat. Simply copy and paste the youtube video url into the chat. In order to use the youtube application you must select it from the left hand side bar.

Getting Your Xat Chat Popular

In this post I will be telling you a few ways to get new visitors to your chat and how to keep them coming back.

Promoting your Xat chat

If you have any spare xats or days you can promote your Xat chat room. Promoting your chat room will place it on Xat homepage (xat.com). It’s best to check how many chats are already promoted before you promote your own chat. If there are lots of chats already promoted, your chat will not get many visitors. If there are only a few chats promoted more visitors will come to your chat. Make sure you have plenty of moderators and owners on before you promote. If people are getting away with swearing, spamming etc.. your chat may get delisted or torched, which will cause you to loose your promotion time and block your chat from future promotions.

Share your Xat chat on Facebook and Twitter

Below each chat there is a way to tweet about your chat or to like your chat on facebook. This will allow your friends and followers to find out about your chat and visit.

Make your Xat chat about a certain topic

If you have a chat about one topic you may get more visitors coming to your chat. You could for example make your chat about gaming. This would bring in more users who like to play video games. There are also a lot of music chat rooms which allows you to relax and talk about the latest tracks. Some radio chat rooms may even allow you to DJ on there radio station.

Keeping it clean

No one wants to go to a chat where users are always fighting. If you want users to keep on coming back make sure you are always polite to them. Keep talking to users of your chat to show that you care. It is nice to keep in touch with friends as you may find yourself being on Xat for a few years.

I have been on Xat for a couple of years now and I have met a lot of great friends who I still talk with when I see them online.

Follow the rules

You should read Xat terms before creating a chat room and before promoting your chat. If you often like to promote your chat and you don’t follow Xat terms you may find your chat getting de-listed or deleted/torched.

Don’t Abuse

You should not abuse your rank by kicking and banning users unfairly. If a user hasn’t done anything wrong don’t just kick or ban them for fun. If you do this then users will probably just leave your chat. Don’t abuse your chat room by scamming users as this will get your chat delisted or deleted. If you are caught scamming users your account may be torched which will cause you to loose all your xats, days and powers.

Challenge accepted – Supporter!

…not from us, but from a Brazilian radio station chat; two of them actually (Docedado and RadioCantoUniversal). Seems that sometime this week, RadioCantoUniversal, popped up on the supported list out of nowhere; assigning a record 2345 SUPPORTER to their chat; beating out Docedado by several hundred. Today however, seems that “Docedado” has taken it personally and accepted the challenge. They have added roughly 1000 additional supporter to their chat pulling ahead to 2602.

Here’s where they are right now:

 

Here’s the breakdown of what they spent to get there:

For U$200 We can buy Xat’s  pack of 33,000 xats + 1980 days (currently the biggest bang for your buck)

Let’s cash those days in to make things easier. At roughly market value we get:
(1980 days * 13 xats) + the original 33,000 xats from the pack above = 60,540 xats

Worst case scenario, let’s say they had to buy supporter at cost (100 xats per unit). Here’s what they spent to get those 2602 supporter:
2602 supporter * 100 xats = 260,200 xats

That value translated to U$ (dollars):
260,200 / 60,540 xats = 4.3 blocks of Xat’s U$200 pack option or roughly U$860.00

Let’s see if RadioCantoUniversal hits back with another purchase :)

 

 

CONTEST: Come up with Xat’s next game!

Details of this contest can be found within the Xatblogs contests group so I’ll make this short and sweet. :)

The basic contest idea is to come up with some fresh ideas for Xat’s next snakebanned, spacebanned, matchbanned type game. Something that will tie in with that concept.

You have just over two weeks to ask questions, to rough out an idea, and to submit it. Hopefully they (Xat) get some good ideas and lots of participation from everyone.

Zomm – iPhone security leash

I came across this over the weekend and thought I’d share. Maybe someone will find it useful (video below).

Zomm, a small electronic security device that connects to your iPhone, Blackberry or Android via bluetooth, is a wireless leash that sounds an alarm whenever you separate 20-40 feet from your mobile phone. If you’ve ever lost a mobile phone, maybe even had one stolen from you, it may be of interest. You can attach it to your keychain, a purse strap, your belt buckle or throw it in a backpack.

BAD – Xat’s censor power coming!

Xat is preparing to release BAD; it’s next unlimited group power. Similar in function to Xat’s “hide inappropriate words” feature, Bad allows a user to censor words of his choosing via a custom list. When typed into the chat, those words will simply be converted (we’re assuming here) to garbled text (example: ####).

Although unconfirmed by us, rumor has it that censored words will have to be 4 or more characters in length. Two interesting questions to ask here. Will censoring the word SEX censor the word SEXTUPLETS as in ####tuplets or would a user have to specifically add “sextuplets” to that list? Also… will Bad include a wildcard (*) feature that allows a user to censor SEX, SEXTUPLETS, SEXTANT by simply adding SEX* to their list (i.e. ###, #########, #######)?

What happened to my xats/days/powers?

Sometime between last night and this morning Xat did something that they’ve never done (not to our knowledge anyway), they “restored” all or some Xat accounts to a earlier state and Xat trade/transfer had to be closed down temporarily during the process. Now, to put rumor to rest and give each of you “some” closure or clarity (depending on where you stand), we’ve contacted Xat ourselves and here is what we know.

The reason/problem is highlighted in Yellow, the solution for some of you, is highlighted in Green.

If you were one of the unfortunates, meaning your account was “in receipt of stolen xats” (be it intentional or not) every one of your transactions has been canceled and restored to its pre-July 5th state. If you purchased xats after the specified date you should contact Xat by opening a ticket at xat.com/support (direct your question to Payment Problems) so that they can help you.
