We’ve been approached by Xat staff asking if we’d like any of our chats set to debug mode. “Of course!” we replied.
The following three chats have now been setup as “xat_test” chats. They can be used to try out new powers, features and random Xat oddities:
We’ve been getting a lot of interesting suggestions via Xatworld’s new Idea Factory page. One of those ideas, from two different users (one or both of them will receive free xats and days), was a Xat nick + Nameglow generator combo. Well, although we have had a version stashed away for sometime (more on this later), we’ve decided to make some adjustments to it and release a base version for now.
In the next few days we’ll be updating this same version, hopefully integrating it more fully with our Xat nicks page and possibly adding some extra features.

We’ve taken a hammer to our piggybank, purchased six new Xat banner generators, and will be working tirelessly to give our official Xat banners page that “special” look. Stay tuned for that!

So confident are we in your genius that we are prepared to dole out two spanking brand new Ultimate game cards every time we publish one of your ideas. In fact, our users have indirectly inspired our latest creation… We present to you… drum roll please…”The Xatworld Idea Factory” taa-daa!
If ever you come up with a unique idea for Xatworld related content, just send it our way. We’ll take a closer look at it, mull it over a bit, and if we think you have something, we will create it and send you Ultimate game card codes (worth xats and days). It’s as simple as that.

We know that not everyone finds the time to head over to Spanish Xat. Having said that, since April 15th, directly below the Spanish help chat (our original forum posting and Twitter post), we’ve been beta testing a new idea that we later hoped to bring over to Xatworld.com. Since the cat is so to speak, “out of the bag” (maybe it was just a coincidence), we won’t wait.
What we have been offering is one UGC card (that’s 1200 xats and 60 days) for your “original” ideas for new pages/generators, etc.. We are not limiting the prize to any one person or one idea. Instead, The author of EACH idea, that we actually create, will be awarded one UGC card. In fact… scratch that completely… NEW RULE: the author of each idea that we create will receive two $10 UGC cards (2,400 xats and 120 days). So, again, what we are looking for are ideas for new generators, but more specifically new ideas having to do with making Xat easier to use. Things like our smiley generator, our big chat launcher, our color codes page, etc… The ideas must be original in that they mustn’t already exist on other Xat resource sites; that means our own or any others that happen to be out there. That’s it really. If you have any questions feel free to ask below. Also, we are not looking for powers or features ideas that would have to be placed on the Xat.com website.
Those interested and wishing to submit their idea may do so by simply sending an email to 
. Please include your Xat ID number, nick that you usually use, and registered ID. That way we can find you! This is an open offer to submit your ideas to us, which will ultimately help everyone, and it’s a great way to earn extra xats, days, and powers. Good luck to all!
With the help of a few loyal Xat users we have created a new Xat Sig/Signature creator. You’ll be able to create dynamic sigs, labeled with your nick, you chat URL, or anything else that fits. These sigs can be used below your Xat chat, Xatspace or in any forum.
We’re in the early stages of our Sig creator and will continue to add, upload and update to many different versions and types of sigs.

Yesterday, here on Xatworld, we launched out first Xat image editor. Since then, we’ve discovered another very useful tool that combines that same editor with Firefox right-click functionality. What that means is that if you are a Firefox user, by installing a simple plugin you will be able to right-click screenshot any page on Xat.com and send it to either the image editor or your desktop.
We’ve tried it out and it works awesomely!
Right-click OUTSITE (not directly on the chatbox) any chatbox and select your option:
You can choose to edit (very cool), share, save (great also!) or copy to clipboard:
In a few seconds you’ll be transported from this…
…to this. Here you’ll be able to edit the image and save it either to desktop or automatically to an online image storage site:

If you already have downloaded the Firefox browser (and you really should as it’s much safer than Internet Explorer), you can find the Pixlr Grabber plugin here.
Have you ever wanted to edit a xat chat background, a screenshot, or any tweak any old image? Photoshop is admittedly the best answer to everything and anything graphic and we do use it here on the Xatworld website. The problem is that it’s expensive and not everyone can afford it. There are of course a few venturous souls that when met with such a predicament have gone the route of GIMP; also very useful and free!.
Online image editors are another beast altogether and there are many. Very easy to use and fast, they have the convenience factor going for them as they can be accessed from anywhere!
Today we’ve dug up just one these. Pixlr’s image editor is now and forever installed here on Xatworld.com. We figured it would be “useful” for fellow Xat users and we have made it permanently available here on our website. In the next few days we will bring you one more, equally as good option, that we will also include in the Xatworld.com utilities section (left/bottom user menu).
We’ve been toying around a bit and have come up with a Xat big chat launcher. What it will do is give you a full screen browser version of any Xat chat. You resize your browser, full screen it if you’d like, copy and paste your chats EMBED code to our page, click “submit query”, and presto, bingo, bango, you’ll get a link that when clicked will launch a full sized version of your chat.
What’s it good for?
- you get to see more of the chat screen (works great in a busy chat where the text just passes buy too quickly to see)
- you get to see more of the userlist (easier to keep track of friends in rather large chat rooms)
- Well, IT’S BIG! – impress your friends 
Operation Audies in now in full swing! In an effort to help draw more attention to this often overlooked, sometimes cryptic Xat feature, we present to you our “new” and slightly improved Xat audies page.
No longer do you have to test out every Audies effect within a chatbox before finally finding the one that best makes your point. Using our Xat audies page, you can now preview every/any Xat sound effect beforehand.
For those unfamiliar with Xat audies, they are simply a way to add sound effects to your chatbox messages. You type in a code, hit enter, and the chat plays the corresponding sound byte.
