While we don’t have all the details we have been passed along the following information:

The ID auction system will consist of two stages

In stage one, users will be able to suggest ID’s that they’d like to buy along with their starting bid.

In stage two, those ID’s (maybe the top 5 during the course of the week) from stage one that receive the most interest will then move forward to an official auction format.

We’ll add to this post as we find out more…

To use this power you will just need to click on another users name and then click reverse.

Just like always when banning a user you will need to be a moderator, owner or main owner.

We do not know if this power will be limited or how much it will cost. Please make sure you are follow @xatworld on twitter for the latest information.

Xat has apparently added a feature to their debug mode (that a debug mode exists may in itself surprise some of you) that activates a message counter. Typing in a line of code sets the starting number and +1 is added to it each time you type in a new line of text.

Note: as far as I know, this ONLY works in the few test chats (xat_test, xatworld, etc…) that exist.

Example: type “/debug msgcount 1″ into the chat (without the quotes)

This will do two things. It will activate the counter function for YOU and it will initialize the counter with a value of 1. Any text typed after this point will have a number appended to it. After having entered the code above our preceding line would read something like “This is my text [1]“. If your were to type a second line, it might look something like “This is my second line of text [2]“.

Example 2: type “/debug msgcount 100″ into the chat (again without the quotes)

Using the same examples above, with the counter now initialized at 100, you would get this:
“This is my text [100]”
“This is my second line of text [101]”

Why does this feature exist? We don’t know. it may simply be used for debugging the chat or, just maybe, it maybe a preview of something to come.

P.S. You can disable message count by typing /debug msgcount off

We are just a few days away from Easter and I am just going to list a few fun things you can do on the chat with your friends.

Smilies:

If you have the powers Easter or KChick then why not add some cool smilies to your name or avatar. If you have more powers then why not really make them stand out by adding some extra affects.

Here is one that I did:   (chick#cycle#chick#matchban#magicfx) {The chick does loose its eyes but its really colourful and will certainly get you noticed in the chat (wink)}

Gline: Get your chat visitors into the Easter spirit by using Easter smilies on your chat.

I have been talking with joombly about the weekly update series that I have been doing and he liked it the old way where I posted the news as it happens instead of having the weekly update as its kind of old news.

I replied saying that the reason why I started it was just incase someone missed a tweet that they could always come to the blog and see the recent updates on xat.com.

I believe that all up to date news should be done by twitter feeds unless its a big release just like how xat support changed or a new feature was released.

I hope everyone is having a brilliant weekend as I sure have been busy this weekend. I was luck enough to go to Thorpe Park on Saturday and Lego Land Windsor Resort today. The parks have not even opened yet to the public but I was able to go for family and friends day of staff that worked there. While at Thorpe Park I went on the new ride called THE SWARM. While at Lego Land Windsor Resort today I went with my niece and nephew who had the time of their life but anyway enough about me here is the latest about xat.com

This week while users were logging into their accounts some people started losing powers. Xat went into maintenance and soon fixed this problem. After the issue was fixed  users were told to login to get their lost powers back. Users reported that they didn’t gain their powers back when they logged in and xat staff did a roll back which means any lost powers or xats would of all be returned. Roll back also affect any users that brought xats or did a trade or transfer. Xat made a tweet saying: The data centre is being upgraded. There may be connection problems

Anyone that’s used Google Gmail has most certainly come across their two-step-verification option. For those that haven’t, Google’s two-step authentication requires that you to enter a pin code (SMS texted directly to your mobile phone) to gain access to your email account. It simply adds an additional layer of protection to safeguard your Gmail email account from would-be phishers & scammers.

How this relates to Xat and what they have planned (if they even use it) is still a bit of a mystery. The obvious guess however is that Xat plans on adding Gmail’s two-step verification as an “option” to their login page to make things “safer” for everyone; perhaps even giving users an incentivized bonus power (just like they did with Tickle) for making the switch over  to Gmail (“it” presumably being the lesser of two evils – think hotmail, yahoo email, etc…).

We’ll have to wait and see
