Tinypic.com useless to International users

Outrage seems to be the general consensus over Tinypic.com‘s move to ban international users from both uploading and viewing any images hosted on their servers.

For a few weeks now several users had communicated to me that they were having trouble seeing xat backgrounds hosted on Tinypic.com. I shrugged if off as a glitch on their end as I myself, being based in the USA, couldn’t replicate the problem. Today it seems that those same users are now seeing the following message:

tinypic international users

Clearly Tinypic has shut down it’s service to international users and is now directing those same users to Photobucket. For the rest of us, please be advised that since this is a “social community” although you may see your chat background, xat tutorial, or any xat related image, other users may not.

We recommend ditching Tinypic altogether and finding another Tinypic alternative. Please spread the word to as many people as you can.

Thanks Spell… question is “for how long?” 🙂 I have a feeling they are going to regroup and do it “the right way” this time. That is, giving everyone ample time to migrate everything over to another hosting account.
